Listen to What You Got

There is a near infinite amount of music to digest. No matter how furiously we scavenge there is no way we can keep up. There will always be a band we haven’t heard of, always a piece from a composer that slips between the cracks.

Instead of putting more emphasis on finding the next fix, what if we listened to what we had more intently? What if we listened to and studied the score of one Mozart String Quartet for a month? What if we listened exclusively to one album for a week?

There is something to say about knowing a piece of music inside and out. Breadth is impressive but depth can be just as if not more powerful.
